About Profesionales por la Ética

PROFESIONALES POR LA ÉTICA is an independent non-profit and non-governmental organization, founded in Madrid (Spain) in 1992.

Our organization is integrated by a wide and plural network of professionals from very different working areas who, selflessly, offer their capabilities to make it true in every scope of the social life the value of the person through the acknowledgement of both her dignity and rights.

In a world threatened by relativism and in need of points of reference which provide a true sense of purpose to our life in society, PROFESIONALES POR LA ÉTICA aims at:

Upholding, in public life, the value of each and every person, their personal dignity and their inviolable rights

PROFESIONALES POR LA ÉTICA pursues its objectives through the following basic areas of activity:

1. Research and development

2. Proposals and alternatives

International Area

Over the last few years, the international team of Profesionales por la Ética  –led by Leonor Tamayo- has developed an important  and very active role in the defence of fundamental rights working with the international institutions and the main European networks. We participate in some of the main European organizational networks and work together with some of the leading lobbying entities related to the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights, the UN, the Fundamental Rights Agency and the OSCE such as the Alliance Defending Freedom, the European Center for Law and Justice, C-FAM, European Dignity Watch, Care for Europe, New Women for Europe, Observatory for Discrimination against Christians in Europe and many more.

We are ourselves a member of the OSCE, a member of the FRP of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), and also an accredited NGO at the European Parliament.

Profesionales por la Ética is partner in the platform Life is Beautiful an international platform of NGOs working at the UN to defend the right to life, family, freedom of education and conscience, the provision of basic health care services and access to essential medicines for all and safeguard the rights of sick, disabled, and elderly persons.

Our organization is also a founder member of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition Europe. Its vision is that European society will enable all people to live free from the threat of euthanasia, regardless of age, ethnicity, disability, health, or financial or social position.

In May 2014 joined the UN Family Rights Caucus. Its mission is to protect and promote the natural family as the fundamental unit of society as called for in Article 16 of the UN Declaration on Human Rights. In February 2016 also joined ONE OF US European Federation for Life and Human Dignity, abbreviated as ONE OF US.

Among other actions, we have participated as speakers at various international forums and institutions such as the European Parliament (June 2010), the OSCE meeting at Warsaw (October 2010) and Vienna  (December 2010), and the FRA meeting at Vienna (2011) in collaboration with the Alliance Defense Fund. We have also participated with a written statement at the High Level meeting of the ECOSOC in Geneva in July 2011 in collaboration with Concerned Women of America and have co-sponsored the parallel event by the Instituto de Política Familiar (Institute for Family Policy) at the New York meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women in March 2012.
